I'm not missing anything. You are missing that a huge number of people who voted for Trump are not religious, racist, or homophobic. More Black people voted for Trump than any Republican in 50 years, many more Latinos voted for Trump than have ever voted for any R. 12% of gay folks voted for him, etc., etc., etc. They overwhelmingly voted for him, despite his obvious flaws, because they are sick of being condescended to by people like you on the left, and by the Democrats more generally.

You and people like you persisting in ignoring that part because you've got a pat story in your head is exactly why he got re-elected so resoundingly. I'm a social scientist. I don't need to be "educated" by a retired math professor who thinks it's a good idea to "show other people the error of their ways."
