I'm not telling you how it should be. I'm telling you how it is. Your view is extremely naive and completely incorrect. You don't have the right to say whatever you want to with no repercussions, and that includes your employer's right to fire you if they don't like your t-shirt, as just one example. You would have absolutely no right to sue him unless you live in a state that has additional protections. The founding fathers won't help you out on that one.

"There is no constitutional right to freedom of expression when at work. This right only applies if the government is trying to repress this freedom in some manner. However, the right to free speech is not an absolute right even in these instances."

I'm linking this to you again in case you are interested in learning what the actual legal parameters of free speech really are. It's a comprehensive article covering all the ways that the government can legally curtail your speech, and many of the non-governmental ones as well. I suggest you brush up on the law so that you don't inadvertently get yourself into trouble.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
