I’m not trying to be pedantic here, but words have power and making a “casual” comment that men don’t have to obtain a woman’s consent and implying that many women actually prefer that, is confusing and a bit irresponsible. A lot of men don’t know how they are supposed to behave right now which is why some are perhaps going overboard with caution. But in the grand scheme of thing, that’s better than feeling entitled to women’s bodies.

Marital rape wasn’t a crime in all 50 states until 1993. Date rape is common. Female agency is important. And it’s still fun to have a man really take charge sometimes. I’m just trying to speak to how to balance those things.
