I'm so glad to hear that. Most people (not just men) would rather deflect and blame than take an honest look at how they are contributing to the problem (whether those are societal or personal). So, it's not that it's entirely unexpected but it's a bit of a drumbeat right now it seems with men who think of themselves as "good guys" who essentially want women to shut up because they are tired of hearing about how bad things are and how masculine culture and patriarchy are at fault (and they don't do those things, so it's not about them). They think of themselves as individuals and don't want to consider how they are also part of a society - because then they'd have to do something and they don't know what to do. But, rather than learning about what they could do, it's just a whole lot easier to tell women to shut up - because after all, they are nice guys ... 🙄

What your father is now doing is exactly the sort of thing that contributes to shifting the culture. It's really heartwarming to hear and I love how it's impacted your relationship for the better.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
