I'm sorry to hear abour your wound. That sounds painful indeed. Of course, evolution isn't the only factor. Culture does play a part, but that changes every decade or so with the current fashion. Biological imperatives hold a more constant sway over millions of years. The most adaptive thing is diversity, so that's what we have, something which can be verified with the naked eye.

But how any of this discussion came to be on a story about how right wing blowhards demonize homosexuality and the misogyny inherent in that is perhaps also attributable to your wounds as well, since "My partner and I aren't like the typical Hollywood norm of what is most desirable" doesn't really fit into any discussion of that topic.
