I'm still waiting to hear what those things might be.

And everybody in the West suffers from a patriarchal mindset - not just men. Patriarchy is in essence a dominance based hierarchy where we are always jousting for place in the pecking order. It's a zero sum construct, so the only way for someone to "win" is for someone else to "lose." And I agree that it's unlikely that we can totally put dominance hierarchies behind us, but the only chance we have of moving even a little bit into a more egalitarian mode is to acknowledge the elements of what is currently taking place and then trying to do better. Pretending we aren't all still deeply effected by "a patriarchal mindset" is fooling yourself.
