I'm very glad that you wrote this. So many people seem to believe that ancient history was a lot like today, except with fewer modern conveniences, like the Flintstones. They don't realize that patriarchy is a social system that only arose within the past several thousand years and that prior to that time, everyone taking care of the tribe was the primary survival strategy. The idea of a male provider really only began with plowed agriculture and was cemented with the Industrial Revolution, as you have pointed out. It's definitely time to change the patriarchal narrative and tell the real story.
