In indigenous cultures, those are often considered intertwined. Not that there is no such thing as being unwell, but that mostly these experiences require spiritual training and intervention because they are symptoms of a larger dynamic that we mostly don't recognize in the West.

I don't remember any unusual "experiences" from childhood, but as a young adult, I began to sense things that were only confirmed later on. A house my husband wanted to buy made me feel very uneasy. The realtor confirmed the couple were selling after a nasty divorce. I left to spend the day with a friend and had the distinct feeling I needed to get home. It turned out my father was being taken to hospice that day - things like that. Since then, my belief in a wider universe has only grown. I certainly don't claim to have all the answers on this, but I do think that it's often more complex than the way we deem it to be by Western metrics. That being said, yes, have your child seen by a doctor if hallucinations are taking place, and then maybe see what else...

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
