In large part, any animosity towards men comes out of the same problematic social dynamic. Women who hate men do so because of the things they have suffered under a patriarchal dominance hierarchy system. In other words, misogyny and misandry are the flip-sides of each other, except that misogyny wants to keep women in patriarchal norms and misandry is hatred engendered by patriarchal norms. They cannot be exact equivalents because of the historical power differential between men and women under this system.
