In pre-patriarchal religions, the Goddess always had a male consort. In matrilineal cultures, men and women are seen to be a necessary balance of each other. Not so with the Abrahamic religions and with the expected gender binaries of patriarchal societies where men are viewed as the antithesis of women and their superiors. It's completely out of balance and as you've said, harmful to men as well as to women. We're all a blend of Yin and Yang traits and it's both silly and destructive to refuse to recognize that.
Good piece.
