In the past 60 years women have really taken on redefining womanhood and femininity in the US and although there is still room for improvement, a woman can be an underwear model, or an astronaut, a stay-at-home parent, or a CEO and all of those things are considered fine and acceptable choices for that individual woman. Men need to take this on more for themselves and continue to broaden what it means to be a man - which from my point of view should be whatever kind of individual you are expressing your masculinity in whatever way works for you.

This needs to include decoupling domination and particularly control of women from masculinity. I just recently wrote a story about how feminism is trying to achieve the same things as Star Trek - a culture where everyone has value and a place, as well as basic respect and where rank and position are available to be earned, no matter your species, race, or gender presentation. I'd really like to see a world like that (or at least moving in that direction).

These narrow boxes of what is acceptable don't serve anyone. More about that here:

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
