It sounds like you’ve got your head on straight although I’m sure this has been difficult. As I learned from Brene Brown, boundaries are a form of compassion, both for yourself and for those other people as well. We can’t save anyone else, we can only save ourselves and hope to walk alongside someone else who is trying to do the same.
