It's an enormous and growing movement of men. A recent poll in the UK says that 25% of men now hold these retrograde beliefs and although it's probably not quite that bad in the US (yet) I'm working on a story about the ways that these extreme views are seeping into mainstream politics and media and are becoming somewhat normalized there. Pretending this isn't a very, very dangerous and problematic trend, even if it is at the end of the day, a minority of men, is naive.

And the real point of this piece was that too many men who recognize the manosphere as anti-social still blame women for driving men there. And that is like blaming Black people who just wanted to be safe and treated fairly for driving whites to the Proud Boys.
