It's been interesting to me to see the cultural narrative begin to shift from "You aren't complete as a woman unless you are married/have children" to one where younger women often just don't buy it, and older women who've already been to that rodeo sure don't buy it. I agree that a lot of men have failed to level up from the the 1950s because they've been able to get away with not doing so, but I think we're heading towards a crucible with this. What will happen next? I honestly don't know. We'll either evolve to become a healthier less patriarchal society or women may just kind of go their own way. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
