It's certainly a weird byproduct of this system that I've noticed a lot. Many men don't want to challenge/recognize how destructive this social system is, even when the ways it hurts them too are pointed out. An extreme example of this is with incels, who never think to blame the hierarchical system in which they have failed to "achieve" and instead, just blame women, who should be "owed to them." I see many other men doing this to a less extreme extent. It never occurs to them to question the system, perhaps due to the privilege aspects, even though that same system is also harming them.
