It's hard to put a book's worth of exploration into a 7 minute story. Refusing to acknowledge that my outlook on these topics comes from years of study of the work of experts in these fields is an issue I commonly encounter - but only from men. I always include quotes and references from many scientific sources and experts and a lot of what I'm discussing is mainstream sociology and anthropology. The fact that this is new to you, doesn't mean it isn't common knowledge in many circles.

Subconscious bias isn't only plausible, it's scientifically proven. Cognitive science says that what we think of as thought is only about 4% conscious - the rest are impulses that reside deep in our subconscious minds, and that are the sum of not only prior experiences, but also things like stereotypes, cultural narratives, media, and childhood programming from things like family or religion. The notion that we are all rational thinkers, making choices on the basis of our intellectual cognition is mostly a 19th century philosophy that is not supported by current neuro- and cognitive science.

The Moral Politics story that I linked you talks about this in depth.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
