It's nice there, on that weird planet where you live, I guess, since you have no apparent desire to leave it, despite overwhelming evidence of its fallacious nature. This is my academic area of expertise, something I've been studying for close to 20 years, so it's hardly cherry picked. What you believe is simply a cultural narrative that you've been fed, essentially pop-history/sociology, but it has little basis in actual anthropology, primatology, archeology, Paleontology, etc.

We survived, when other hominins did not, because we are the "friendliest" and the most cooperative. Many, many anthropologist believe that transcending our primate ancestors dominance hierarchies was a central adaptation of human survival.

Up until about 10,000 years ago, the population of the entire world was less than one million people. In 10,000 BC, the population of Europe was only about 482,000 people — around the same as that of Colorado Springs, Colorado. There was nothing to fight over, because natural resources were ample and humans live in small nomadic bands of 20-50, with lots of kin in neighboring tribes (so that you can maintain genetic diversity by not procreating with close relatives). This is not to say there was never any violence of any kind. Hot blooded disputes erupted from time to time, but the sort of egalitarian societies that modern hunter-gatherers have today demonstrate a low tolerance for that sort of behavior, because it threatens the stability and well-being of the group.

Even after humans became more sedentary, a deep belief in personal autonomy kept dominance hierarchies at bay. Mayors and even kings had little direct authority outside of their immediate vicinity, and communities were maintained by what were essentially cooperative neighborhood councils.

Read The Dawn of Everything by David Graeber for a detailed and meticulously documented look at this. Warning, it’s very, very long because of the vast array of supporting evidence and examples from dozens of cultures.

Even Chimps don't actually behave in the ways that you seem to think. It is a fable. Your Flinstonian view of human history is not remotely in line with science. It's essentially modern patriarchal dominance hierarchies attempting to justify themselves, but that's all it is - fairy tales.

Particularly for very social species, such as primates, the pro-social aspects of non-lethal behavior are also a factor as well as the cost-benefit analysis of probable victory for engaging in it. To say that humans are inherently warlike or inherently peaceful is to oversimplify. However, there is significant evidence that even cultures that are considered to be quite violent still have mechanisms for avoiding lethal interactions. Sometimes those involve simply avoiding each other and sometimes they are more elaborate, including singing contests or ritualized battles where conflicts may be resolved without any significant bloodshed. Periods of peace may be agreed upon to allow for trade as well.

“Destabilization of the social resource network decreases group stability and efficiency and lowers the average fitness benefit derived from cooperation. When group stability is important for individual advantage, selection will favor active peacemaking and cooperation in our closest relatives and ourselves.”

Genghis Kahn ruled in the 1200s. The Romans too are very, very recent history in the timeline of humanity. You are describing things from the past 1-3% of history, whereas I'm talking about the other 97–99%.

Humans first emerged in Africa about 2 million years ago and modern Homo sapiens about 300,000 years ago. Something that took place 5k years ago is only slightly more than 1% of the time that Homo sapiens have been around.

You have no apparent expertise in any of these scientific arenas and yet feel fine about dismissing the opinions of large bodies of experts because you know better all about the world. 🙄 It's really quite comical, but I don't have any more time to devote to your education. Happy reading, and enjoy your planet.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
