Surely, he’s heard of that one even if he isn’t aware of the fact that women in the US couldn’t get home loans or credit cards in their own names until just 50 years ago, that women could be fired for becoming pregnant, and could be refused work simply for being women, that spousal abuse wasn’t illegal in the UK until 1976, and that similar things were true in most Western countries.
