It's really wonderful to see a man publicly grappling with these ideas and asking himself the questions you've asked. I agree that we're all inherently good, but also that masculinity is way too constructed around domination in a broad sense as well as control of women - and that's something that men can shift if they really want to - in part by becoming aware of a lot of the stuff that takes place subconsciously. The American Psychological Association recently issued new guidelines for working with boys and men noting just how destructive these norms of domination, control, and stoicism are to men (as well as everyone else).

We really do a need a more humane, less binary social system - for all our sakes. Thanks for your thoughts on this.
