I've only collaborated with a therapist on a few rare occasions, although I think for certain clients, it can be a good pairing. I agree with what you've said about therapy being a place to deal with trauma and to learn how to navigate feelings. Coaching is more action and goal oriented, although I figured out pretty early on that somebody has to have a sense of how or why they are standing in their own way before they can truly identify and effectively pursue goals. Sometimes those things can be figured out in coaching, and sometimes they require a bit more in depth work with someone who is trained specifically for that.
