James Finn, one of the reasons that I write under a nom de plume is that I’ve found that other people are often made uncomfortable by these kinds of topics. This way my friends and family don’t have to run across it and feel awkward or embarrassed. Medium readers can choose it or not, as suits them and I get to express the real me.

There are few people in my daily life that I can share this kind of thing with, and I’ve gotten to the point where I truly own how integral this part of myself is to my authenticity. One of the things we love about Tamara is that she’s also very open, and we spend part of every time we are together saying things that you mostly can’t say to other people.

And that being said, I’ve only started expressing myself like this in the past year. My early Medium writing is a lot more tame. It’s taken practice to be more explicit, and even now, it’s not always my strongest suit. I think whatever works for you is what is the right thing. 💓

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
