Then there was the comment I tagged you on the other day where the very feminist guy who I don’t think is doing it to be manipulative in the way you’ve described here, still wanted to tell me what was best for me, and how I couldn’t possibly have good discernment about BDSM because I was involved in it. Last time I checked, telling a woman how they should feel about something that they have consciously chosen is first rate mansplaining. Believing that I need saving from myself is paternalistic and condescending. But this dynamic of women being so feckless and men being more discerning and their views being more sound is deeply, deeply ingrained in our culture.
