Just clarifying - patriarchy is a male led dominance hierarchy social system where men absolutely have had both systemic and cultural control and power over women, but it's also a system where certain men have power over other men and where social stratifications of all sorts are justified and upheld, often by intimidation and violence.
Homelessness is a function of patriarchy, as is police brutality, and garden variety bullying. It is a male over female cultural system, but it's not only that -and men absolutely are harmed by patriarchy, just like everyone else but a few elites.
But you're right, believing the very intentional propaganda that feminism is anything other than the desire for women and men to have equality is holding us all back. As Michael Kaufman notes, "I’d say our goal can’t just be gender equality, but rather a vision of human liberation outside of the narrow constraints created by eight thousand years of life in patriarchal societies."
