Let me start by saying that I’m enjoying this discussion. It’s not always easy to have a real discussion on the interwebs and I’m not attached to anybody agreeing with me in the end. I just like being able to bandy ideas about.

If rape has a basis in primal mating impulses, why do men get raped? Why do little babies and old nuns get raped? I understand that some men are aroused by the power aspect and that forced mating sometimes takes place in the animal world. It’s certainly an interesting topic because it’s not cut and dried. There are multiple elements in play.

But you haven’t really addressed my question about matrilineal societies and partible paternity. Also, we’ve only lived in a masculine values society for 3% of human history. I’m not saying you are absolutely wrong, but how do you account for that (your outlook in the face of that)?
