Most men choose not to do it either. And, every time those industries open up to women, there are women who do go into those fields (oil and gas, mining, etc.)

You're on the right track that patriarchy is a dominance based hierarchy that primarily benefits the elites, but some of the rest of this is quite oversimplified and not actually in alignment with facts.
