Motivations are irrelevant and people should be held accountable for the effects of their actions - not their intent. The examples you site were not widely accepted "get out of jail free" cards for women who did terrible things. Most people, including most women, did not think what they did was OK.

Men may be prosecuted for crimes more often than women (which isn't fair) but in a larger context, men are absolutely not held to account for all kinds of things that they do in ways that women are. An assertive man is considered a leader, while an assertive woman is considered a ball-breaker and a bitch. This entire OP was a study in how men are often not held accountable for problem behavior.

She anticipates that she will be further censured and punished for writing this story and further outing this male student who went out of his way to make sure she paid for talking to him. It's not an unreasonable assumption since it happens all the time to women who complain about bad behavior.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
