Mutual respect would go a long way, but we can never begin to get to a place where that is possible unless we dismantle the patriarchal notion that some people are more important and more valuable than others and that every interaction is a "who wins" zero-sum calculation. I suppose in one way, it's chicken and egg, because if we were all taught to truly respect each other, those other things would evaporate but I don't see that ever really taking hold as more than lip service unless you start fostering more partnership oriented organizational structures.
