My "issues" are that I no longer tolerate bullshit the way that I used to. You said that she has star power in a world where that is more important than music - in the context of a guy talking about how he doesn't see her as all that musically talented. Normal people would interpret that as you saying she isn't very musically talented. In response I simply pointed out 4 mega-stars who have expressed respect for her songwriting ability.

As an abstract statement there's nothing wrong with what you said - but you said it in the context of discussing a particular person in a particular way. What you say is going to be taken in the context of and in relationship to what the author wrote. Opining about abstract ideas in the context of a very specific discussion about a very specific thing is silly and pointless and you claiming that's what you were doing is, I think is you CYA for having said something snarky. On top of your "abstract" observation you noted (with no evidence whatsoever, I might add) that "She is a star to the people who are making her rich, and that's what matters to her." - which is once again a passive-aggressive way to say something snarky and denigrating. You have no idea what matters to her as an artist and pretending you do is condescending.

On top of all that, I have zero patience for people who won't take responsibility for what they say. It's passive-aggressive and out of integrity and I've seen you do it more than once. Say what you mean and mean what you say - and if you are unaware of how you are actually being snarky and passive-aggressive, get some therapy.
