My only sibling died before my mother did, so I never had to navigate all of this, but as far as I know, we were both of the mindset that it was our parents' money and they could do with it what they wanted to - including spend it all before they died, give it to charity, or whatever. An adult child's belief that they are owed their parents' money just sits really wrong with me.
