My partner was saying that he has never had a bad experience - he wasn't saying that no-one has never had one. Under normal circumstances, vaginas are highly elastic and experience very little lasting change to that even from childbirth, although it can have some effect, and in rare cases, a significant difference. It sounds like you encountered a very unfortunate example of this.
