My theory, based on the feedback I've gotten from a lot of men, is that acknowledging that the system is harmful - to women and to men (and everyone) is somehow an admission of failing to have cut it in the system. So, most guys aren't going to do that. It feels vulnerable somehow because in a dog eat dog system, you better be tough and figuring out how to impose your will on others. Not saying "This is a shitty system that has hurt me... and I see how it's hurt you too."
And that's why I don't see things changing or improving much in my lifetime because if more men won't take on this social system and try to make it better, then it's not going to budge.
