Never once occurred to you (or that guy) that there is a shortage of workers due to a post-pandemic world and most of the applicants are male because the restaurant business is notoriously misogynistic and full of sexual harassment (why more women prefer places run by female chefs). Blaming the victim is not only a clueless and mean thing to do, it's stupid.

How about you spend less time reflexively and defensively opining about things you clearly don't remotely know anything about, and more time listening and learning?
