If we lived in a safer world, women wouldn't need that, and again, 30 years of hook-up culture kind of destroys this Victorian idea that women are not just as sexual as men and require emotional connection to want to engage in sex. In cultures (and subcultures like Swinging) where it is safe, and it is socially acceptable, it takes place without emotional attachment all the time.

I think I already quoted this to you - but maybe it was someone else. Among younger women, they are more than twice as likely to have gone to a swinger's club, BDSM dungeon or had a threesome than men their same ages. Women are not somehow wired for emotional connection in sex in a way that is different than men.
