No, I've met all your metrics, and when I do you change what those are.
Man Box" isn't the correct term to have come out of the Equimudo study. That's because it didn't, it has been in use for 30+ years already.
It's misandrist because it lumps all men in together. No, it was a term created by men, coming out of research done by men based on what other men say is expected of them in order to be considered "real men." It doesn't claim all men are like this, rather it claims that all men face pressure to be like this.
Well, it's not as important as things like climate change and authoritarian governments. It's the root cause of climate change and authoritarian governments.
It's a simplistic and mono-faceted view. From a sociological perspective, all cultures rooted in a patriarchal dominance hierarchy have similar core values and fundamental structures.
You can certainly discern a common core; I just don't think this gives us much insight into what to do about any of it. I then proceed to give you a huge number of examples, including links to stories that are about just that.
When I asked you what we should do about all this, since you're unhappy with the way it's being handled now, you don't have anything to offer. Instead, you reverted back to attacking the way this issue is messaged - without being able to provide a suitable alternative.
That's what people who are performatively argumentative and/or coming out of their subconscious minds and not their cognitive processes do. You pretend like you’ve always agreed that there was a common core, but it just wasn’t being messaged appropriately — when in fact you spent a long time arguing that viewing it as having a common core was “simplistic and mono-faceted” and that Afghanistan was in no way similar to the US. There’s no consistency or logic and in fact, you can’t even remember what you actually said half the time because it’s not rational. When I answer your question or point out where the facts don’t support what you are saying, you find another thing to object to because understanding or resolution are not the point for you — finding something to object to is.
It’s been a fascinating little social science experiment, but I think I’m over it now.
