No, men are not "opting out" more, they are less likely to find a partner to marry - they actually want to get married more than women do. Haven't you kept up on all the uproar about how lonely young men are? On the other hand, women are starting to realize more and more that marriage takes a lot from them and doesn't give an equal amount in return. Sure, some young women still want to get married because humans are social animals and they've also been messaged their entire lives that they aren't whole people unless they do so, but a lot of younger women are listening to older women about what marriage in this culture actually offers them, and are saying "No thank you."
