Observation of a culturally reinforced dynamic does not equate to scientific evidence that women have brains that innately predispose them to greater empathy. And I'll reiterate again, we don't know nearly enough about human brains to be able to make any sorts of assertions about what minor structural differences indicate. So far, there is no actual evidence whatsoever that women and men are inherently better or worse at anything or that their brains function in different ways. Claims to the contrary are shoddy science made out of patriarchal assumptions. Our brains are highly plastic and become adept at what we continually train them in.

I completely agree however that empathy is a leadership skill but it's also one that women are trained in from birth. The same with self-control. There's no reason that men couldn't be trained in that from birth as well -in theory.

Edit: I just ran across this excellent article that lays out the science more eloquently than I did.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
