OK, but a lot of traditionally red states are turning purple in direct response to Trump’s terrible presidency. They are more inclined to stay at least somewhat “traditional” and Bernie Bros may think that they’re populist but they are also quite often misogynists. In other words, they respond to the dominance hierarchy too, even if it’s only subconscious. Not all Sanders supporters are Bernie Bros, but some, to be sure.

Trump has signs of early dementia also but people see what they want to see and believe what they want to believe and what is traditional is what feels most comfortable. I’ll look forward to reading your piece when it’s out.
