One of the key elements of a dominance hierarchy is that subordinate groups are always blamed for their own predicament (even when it's demonstrably due to the actions and beliefs of the dominant group). I know this is the case, and that other groups also get told they should be nicer (as if that every got anyone anywhere when seeking their civil rights), but it still just pisses me off to no end anyhow. I often point out to the people (mostly white men) who say that there is no way in hell they would just demurely sit back and watch their interests and their very humanity be trampled and respond to that with niceness.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
