Other than your rather limited experience, you don't have any evidence of that on a broad spectrum scale, so please stop saying it. I know of at least a couple women on Medium who lost male family members to suicide, and as I noted to you earlier, dumping your pain out in a place where that isn't safe to do isn't a great idea. For all you know the women you talked to were so uncomfortable with what you said, and didn't know what to do with it that they laughed. Laughter is an extremely common response to discomfort. You deciding that they actually were indifferent to you perhaps harming yourself is a story that you've made up in your head which very likely isn't true.

I don't even know who Michelle Carter is so mentioning her name is hardly an indication of some large-scale dynamic.
