Patriarchal has nothing whatsoever to do with legal equality, and yes, the US is one of the most patriarchal cultures in the world, outside of the Middle East.
Nothing prevents you from using the Google machine to look up how many cultures there are in the world, but even if there were 2k+, the fact that 6 non-US cultures are matrilineal, plus more than 2/3s of Native American cultures, plus plenty of other indigenous cultures that aren't matrilineal but practice various flavors of egalitarian balance between the genders pretty resoundingly swats down any notions of "male dominance" being a universal thing. And that's before we get into ancient history where egalitarianism was one of the main survival strategies.
Look, I don't have time to educate you on the history of the world, and of humanity. If you have questions about this stuff, look it up. It's mainstream anthropology and social science.
