People agree to cultures in a highly subconscious way - by being indoctrinated into them since birth. It's not like somebody actually asks a 12 year old, "So, do you want to be a part of a dominance hierarchy where there are strict rules for being "a real man" and you're expected to always be in control and take what you want?"

No, it's just the ocean that we swim in and most people have little understanding of how deeply they are influenced by cultural factors. It's a big reason for why I write what I do - to try to make that stuff more conscious, because we can't change things that we haven't identified as problems. Too many men I encounter say things like, "This is just how men are" and then I give them examples from around the world and from different time periods of how that isn't true at all.

I'd like to see all men agree to healthier, less harmful cultures, but a lot of them don't want to, even if it would make their lives better.
