Rape does seem to be a function of patriarchal societies (not all of which are comprised of white people) but I do agree that colonialism certainly spread the practice and that rape is using sex as a weapon of control and domination, or at the very least, a belief that women exist for the sexual gratification of men. Women who embody their sexuality for their own purposes go against the grain of it supposedly being strictly for the benefit of men.
