Serial monogamy isn’t the best that people can hope for. Polyamory is alive and well in this country and becoming a more and more widely accepted thing. I have a husband, another male life partner, a girlfriend, and occasional play partners. My friend E.L. Byrne has 3 serious boyfriends plus a couple of other people that she sees.

I do agree that many men believe they own their wives, and sometimes wives feel the same way in return. And that’s one of the healthy things that polyamory can offer — you can’t own all those other people, and so most people don’t even expect to.
