So, I'm not supposed to stand up for the women they are killing, and dehumanizing, and dreaming of raping because that might be seen as divisive?????? Do you even hear yourself? It's not my job to fucking save them. This story is not aimed at them - it's aimed at the men like you who want to keep focusing all of your attention of these people to the complete and utter disregard of the women that they hurt. It's attempting to point out how utterly wrong and misogynistic that is.

I do agree with you that since patriarchal norms of masculinity are largely to blame that men do bear the greatest responsibility - both for changing those norms and for reaching out to guys like this. I think that would be a very constructive and beneficial thing to do and with that perhaps this entire dynamic could evaporate. Until that time comes, until men pull their weight around addressing the aspects of patriarchal masculinity that are killing and hurting women, I'm going to continue to bring it to their attention that their himpathy is overblown and actually contributing to the problem.

It is not a victim's job to reach out with kindness to the people who are harming them. I can have empathy for them as fellow human beings but it's not my job to make things better for them, while they are making things worse for me and other women.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
