So speak about those particular actors and call out their specific issues, rather than trying to throw the baby out with the bathwater, which is what these sorts of guys want to do. "Advocacy isn't perfect, so we shouldn't have any." Guess what? Nothing made up of human beings is perfect.

What this guy, and pretty much all others who complain about social justice advocacy actually don't like is not really that - it's that their problems are not being prioritized. This is what he said over and over again - some version of "they don't seem to want to acknowledge that I have problems too." This is a well documented aspect of how a dominance hierarchy operates. Those closer to the apex of power expect that the focus should rightly be on them, their needs, and their problems. When it's not, it feels offensive and out of line, and you get an OP like this one.

Talking about the very real harm that has been done to you is not weaponizing victimization, by the way. The actual "crime" is failing to spend enough time discussing how all but the richest Christian hetero white guys also suffer under patriarchy. That's something I talk about quite a bit, because I think it's an important aspect of the puzzle, but expecting that oppressed people will caretake those above them in the hierarchy speaks to the nature of the hierarchy itself, and not to a fault with the oppressed.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
