Thank you! However, I urge you to be gentle with yourself. We cannot stop every injustice we witness. Trying to interfere with those men probably would have accomplished nothing but you getting a good beating. But I do think that we have the responsibility to act when we can, and to speak out when we can, and to demand better when we can.

Saying, "It doesn't affect me, so it's not my problem" is the way that evil perpetuates.

As Martin Neimoller said, "First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."
