Thank you. We do have a home health aid in 4 mornings a week and the hospice folks the other two, although a bit later in the day. Sundays are the day I take a break from having strangers in my house and James just helps me manage. The home health lady comes at 7:30 am., but on the day I mentioned, Mom needed to get up at 7 (something that is now pretty unusual since she is essentially now bedridden).

I appreciate your concern. It is very easy to get beaten down by this type of care work. I don’t go to many of the places you name because my city is a covid hotspot and I don’t want to bring anything home with me, but that being said, I have been making an exception to go to weekly biofeedback appointments, which are helping immensely in having a place to talk about what’s going on in my life and to learn to intentionally activate my parasympathetic nervous system. It’s something I hope to write about on down the line a bit.

I’ve also got lots of good emotional support, including some friends who are going through something similar. It’s just a tough part of life, but I’m also glad that she’s here and that we’ve had this time together. As hard as it’s been, I’ll never regret it.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
