Thank you and really good question. Hierarchies aren’t the issue — just domination based hierarchies, which are inherent to patriarchy. Hierarchies of actualization (power to and power with) are great, as are hierarchies of competence or merit. Earning status for being beloved or consistently demonstrating wisdom, etc., is very different from having status because people like you forced others into submission a few thousand years ago and you’re using intimidation and structural forces to ensure that it stays that way.

This is something that I probably ought to write more about so thanks for bringing it up. It’s a good thought prompt.
