Thank you for sharing this, and I completely agree. Ignoring bullies mostly just emboldens them and has them feel like they have silenced you and shut you down, which is a part of what they want. Due to the nature of what I write about, I often get snarky or rude comments on my stories. I’ve had to block a couple of people, but overwhelmingly, when I stand up for myself or for others, those people stop trying to bully me.

I firmly believe that we have the society that we tolerate, and not standing up for ourselves and for others has contributed negatively to our culture.
