Thank you - much appreciated.

We know for a fact that we didn't live like the Flintstones, and that this really is just a projection of an idealized 1950s America that has been projected into history because it feels comfortable to a lot of people - what with very rigid gender roles and a very white-centric, male-centric "ideal" world being sold to us via the new medium of television. The truly disturbing part is that even a lot of academics and science types internalized that view as well and it influenced their work. To be quite frank, it took a major influx of female researchers and scientists in the 1970s and beyond to really start to challenge this patriarchal ideal. Of course, many men challenged it also, but a lot of the damage was already done as far as this narrative being entrenched in the collective imagination. I try to do my part to correct that.

Thanks for reading and for your support.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
